#169 | Cheree Tham | America’s Warrior Partnership
I spoke with Cheree Tham, Vice President of Programs and Initiatives for America’s Warrior Partnership tonight. Her organization is seeking to help prevent future suicide and non-natural deaths among veterans. They need data!
CALL TO ACTION |||| MISSION ROLL CALL makes a Veterans Day appeal for more families of vets who have taken their own lives to take part in study aimed at stopping veteran suicides. Combat veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, and Mission Roll Call Executive Director, Garrett Cathcart is using the week of Veterans Day (November 9th) to call on the families of veterans who have died by suicide to contribute to their “Operation Deep Dive” initiative (conducted through the University of Alabama and funded by the Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation) to improve mental healthcare services for veterans.
HOW CAN YOU HELP? By participating in an Operation Deep Dive interview that aims to investigate the lives of former service members lost to suicide or a non-natural cause of death (overdose, asphyxiation, accidental gunshot, drowning, suicide by law enforcement, or high-speed, single-driver accident) within the last 24 months.
WHAT IS THE GOAL? The goal is to examine how the deceased service member was engaged within the community and how the community can better support our service members in the future.
